Welcome!

Welcome to the Punk and Vegetarian Recipes blog. This blog will discuss punk bands and various vegetarian or vegan recipes.

What is punk? Punk is more than music. It's about creativity, community, equality, individuality, politics, questioning, self-expression, and unity. It is a lifestyle not a trend.

The Pita Pit

I cannot believe I just found out about this amazing place in Claremont, CA. When I went in there, I did not know what to expect. The first thing I noticed walking in was the cartoonish art work all around, which gave the place character. I was instantly greeted by the two servers. They were both friendly and cheerful. The main server asked if it was my first time there. As soon as she found it was and that I was a vegetarian, she began to go over all the vegetarian pitas they had.  She was even joking around asking if I found her co-worker cute. Made the friendly scenario more comical.

I decided on the Spicy Black Bean Pita. Once I decided on the pita, I was asked what I would like on the pita. I got hummus, avocados, mushrooms, artichokes, spinach, onions, tomatoes, and pepperoncinis..

After I got my pita the main server asked if she gave me a gift, if I would come back. I said "of course!" She then handed me a coupon. The coupon was buy one get one free.

The pita was massive, I should have split it with a friend but I was feeling a bit glutenous that day. The taste of it was delicious, it makes my mouth water just writing about it at the moment. All the fresh vegetables along with the black bean patty was delicious and an enjoyable meal that left me satisfied for the night.

I'm a bit weak when it comes to spicy food. The spiciness left a diminutive kick. However, it was not bad considering I have a low tolerance to spicy food. If you are the same, you can find it just as enjoyable.

The pita alone was enough to convince me to return to this establishment another day. Since I also received a gift on my first visit, I will soon return to take advantage of the coupon, and bring a person along who has not been there before.

Since this is a franchise; it is not only located at Claremont, but various other locations. If The Pita Pit is around your area I recommend you stop by for a visit.

The gift!
