Welcome!

Welcome to the Punk and Vegetarian Recipes blog. This blog will discuss punk bands and various vegetarian or vegan recipes.

What is punk? Punk is more than music. It's about creativity, community, equality, individuality, politics, questioning, self-expression, and unity. It is a lifestyle not a trend.

Finger Food!

Ready to eat!
Prepared for the oven!
Who doesn't love finger food? They are always great appetizers. Stuffed mushrooms are amazing finger foods! People always love them and they're easy to make. The ones in the pictures are not vegan-friendly. They have cheddar cheese in them. I did make a batch where I omitted cheese, and it came out just as delectable.

Recipe for these:
  • 1/2 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (any you enjoy to give it that extra taste, I  have used pepper-jack cheese to give it that spicy kick some enjoy!)
  • 2 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
  • 1-2 tablespoons chopped oregano.
  • 1-2 tablespoon chopped sage and chives.
  • 1/4-1/2 cup of chopped spinach
  • Couple mushroom stems chopped
  • Hint of salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/3 cup virgin olive oil
  • 15-20 Cremini  Mushrooms stemmed  (depending on how big they are)
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Mix crumbs, spinach, garlic, oregano, chives, mushroom stems, and sage with the olive oil. Put olive oil on the pan, so the mushrooms do not stick to the pan while in the oven. Start filling the mushrooms with the mix. Afterwards put them in the oven. They should be done in 30 minutes. You know they are ready when the stuffing is golden and the mushroom darkens a bit.

Part of this recipe was taken from Giada De Laurentiis . I omitted white mushrooms for cremini mushrooms, since I prefer the taste that cremini provide (also they are much larger). I also added spinach and different herbs, because I did not have the ones she asked for. I experimented and the result were these delicious mushrooms.
