Derogatory

Gabrielle Leko from La Cañada High School has been accused of using derogatory language towards her students. She is a math teacher, and called one of her students a "jew boy." She has been known amongst her students to use sexist and racist comments towards them.

She did not get fired, but instead got ordered to take a sensitivity and diversity training. Parents are outrage of these events and shocked the school took as long as they did to do something about it, even if it's just a slap on the wrist. The people defending her claim she's a talented teacher.

Talented or not, one should be able to take responsibility for their actions. In this new millennium you would think people in our country would get past the wall of racism and sexism. This type of behavior needs to be cut out, because she is just giving a bad example to her students, the future.
